Hal Hartley's thesis film from the State University of New York at Purchase where he graduated in 1984. The film was finally completed the following year and broadcast on PBS in 1986. A young man tries to leave town to find his estranged girlfriend and gets held back when he tries to help his neighbor and her insane older brother.
Featuring actors who would continue to appear in Hartley's films of the early 90s.
